Well I didn't get the preschool going and now it looks like I will be moving. Dad lost his job a few weeks ago and so we are looking at moving back to Emery County, Utah. I hope that once we get settled I can look into doing preschool there. I will look for a place to do it and then hopefully start early enrollment in January. I will let you know what happens.
In the meantime you can check out pictures of the classroom that I would have had this year by going to the Facebook page; www.facebook.com/pages/Miss-Jens-Lil-Sprouts-Preschool/. I will try to get them on here later this week.

Okay, so yesterday was supposed to be the first day of class. Since I still have no guaranteed students, I have decided to push back the opening until October. I will hold an Open House on October 1 from 9am til 3pm. Class will begin on October 2.
I am going to take pictures and video of the classroom and post them here and on the Facebook page. Things are really cute and I have lots of fun stuff. I have many great ideas for the year and really want to be able to use them.
This past weekend Dad had an accident while driving truck. He is on suspension right now while the company investigates. I can relate to some of the feelings he is having as far as guilt about what could have happened. I have been there done that. I also know how easily discouraged he gets. If he loses this job it will be the third one in two years. He is sitting here right now and just told me that, "as sure as I am sitting here I'm sure they're going to let me go." I am praying that that doesn't happen. I ask for your faith and prayers as well.
This is a big reason why I want things to work out with the preschool. I want to be able to help my parents and family with my support. I love my family a great deal and by doing something I love I feel like I can help them out. Until then I am trying not to get discouraged myself.

I am planning on holding an open house for preschool next Wednesday. I am starting to get worried because I still have no students. My visiting teacher and I have hung flyers and posters around the area. Several friends have posted my link to the Facebook page on their walls. I have put ads online and have been talking to people and trying to get word out by word of mouth. I don't know what else to do!
Thanks to the wonderful people in the neighborhood, I have many new toys and books. I have purchased a lot of supplies and have been getting the house and yard ready. I am going to try and get the fire inspection next week.
Please continue your prayers in my behalf that everything will work out.

So this past weekend a young woman from my ward did a toy drive as one of her Personal Progress goals. She collected toys and books and even some supplies to help me get this preschool started. I am amazed at all the stuff I got.
I just want to thank all the people who donated. I especiall want to thank JEssica Call for doing the toy drive.
I am holding open registration next Tue-Thu from 1:30-4pm. I am posting signs and flyers so that hopefully I can get some kids signed up fast. If you want to call or stop by before or after those days feel free to do so.
Mom and I are going to have a special fast on Sunday. We will be fasting and praying that I can fill my classes and that everything will work out. Please feel free to join us.

So, bad news! I lost my job a week ago. I didn't really like the job but it was helping to pay the bills. It took 4 1/2 months to find that job I don't want to wait another four months to find another one. That is why I am starting to get desperate about filling my preshool.
My Relief Society president's daughter is going to help me collect toys and books for one of her Personal Progress goals. She has also volunteered to pass out flyers. My visiting teacher is also willing to help pass out flyers. I am hoping to get them passed out this weekend and hopefully that will help get the word out.
This past weekend our family went to Emery County for a family reunion, the Castle Valley Pageant, and my grandpa's 88th birthday party. I had the opportunity to visit with many friends and family members. It was a great weekend that ended way too soon. It also made me really homesick. It was good to see everyone. One friend even donated a garbage bag full of children's books.
Anyway, I don't know what is going to happen with my preschool or how I am going to continue to pay my bills. I know I just have to have faith that everything will work out for the best.

I am going to hold an open enrollment/registration for the next few weeks to try and get some students signed up. I will hold it on Tuesday-Thursday from 1:30pm-4:00pm. I will post signs and welcome anybody to stop by the house and sign up.
I am tired of my current job as a custodian. I have been having problems with my neck and arm and it is hard to do the job. Also, the past two days I have gotten overheated as we worked outside raking dead grass. I just want to teach and I am getting really frustrated that nobody has signed up for my preschool.
I am ready to start begging. Please let your friends and family know about this site or my Facebook page. Give them my info and help me out.

Okay, I am starting to get a little worried! School starts in just over a month and I still have no students. So I have decided that anybody who likes my facebook page and enrolls their child will get $10 off of September's tuition. That means the payment for September would be $75 instead of $85.
In the meantime, Dad and I went to D.I. yesterday and found a bookshelf, easel, and some children's chairs and books. I paid $25 for the shelves, easel, 6 books, and 5 chairs. I also got a Sit and Spin and some books the other day at our next door neighbor's yard sale. I have started gathering supplies and have started setting up the basement. Now to get some students!
I am getting excited for the school year to begin. I have made a sample schedule and have started creating lesson plans. I can't wait to share my knowledge, skills, and love for young children.
P.S. I am still looking for donations of toys and other things that the kids might be interested in playing with. I specifically need balls, cars, dinosaurs, play kitchen items, and blocks. Let me know if you have anything to donate. Thanks!

So, I have the name for my preschool and I have a list from the fire marshal saying what I need to pass inspection but I still have no students. Apparently I missed a call yesterday from someone interested, but I couldn't understand the message. Thus the title for this entry.
Other than the fact that I have no students, everything seems to be falling into place. I have been getting supplies here and there for good deals at the local stores and D.I. I have also pretty much decided what we are going to learn about and will soon post it on the calendar page. I have ideas for arts and crafts and other centers. It is going to be a lot of fun!
I am hoping and praying that with the help of friends, neighbors and family that I can finally turn my dream into reality. This is one of the things I want to do most in my life. I am asking everyone I know to PLEASE HELP!!!!
I am also still looking for donations of toys, books, kid furniture, and anything else I could possibly use for my preschool. This also includes things like empty toilet paper/paper towel rolls, tin pans, plastic containers, clear 20 oz. plastic water/soda bottles, egg cartons, etc. Anything that can be used for art and craft projects or center activities.
Please add your prayers to mine. Thanks for your support so far.

It is official! The new name for the school is Miss Jen's Li'l Sprouts Preschool. Next step is fire inspection and business license. Hopefully the house will pass inspection. Now I just need students.
I have a lot of fun activities planned for the year. We will be learning about lots of stuff from apples to zoo animals! I can't wait to get going.

Okay, so it is starting to become a reality. I have the info about how to get licensed. I just have to register the preschool name and get an inspection from the fire marshall. There is probably some work to do in the yard and a few other things, but I'm on the way.
So now I need to fill the classes. I am hoping to have 2 sessions with at least 8 children in each. The classes will be held 3 days a week for 2.5 hours each. Please help me out by spreading the word. I am soooooo excited to get started.
